One of the best ways to manage your nerves is to manage your breathing. I lifted the following technique from Yoga with Adriene on YouTube. It’s called the 4-7-8 breathing technique. Thanks Adriene.

The 4-7-8 breathing technique is very simple, but very effective. It works like this: inhale through your nose for a count of four. Make sure you breathe into your belly, not just your lungs.

Hold for a count of 7.

Exhale through your mouth for a count of 8.

Let’s do it together. Ready? Inhale two, three four.

Hold, two, three, four, five, six seven.

Exhale, two, three four, five, six, seven, eight.
